Toddler Care Program
Language, Literacy & Communication
Our language and literacy curriculum for toddlers and early preschoolers provides a print-rich, language-rich environment that supports progress toward age-appropriate developmental milestones. As children grow in their ability to express themselves, teachers engage them in meaningful conversations and introduce a variety of vocabulary to support communication development. Phonological awareness is encouraged through word games, songs, and rhymes. Daily opportunities to interact with books and storytelling experiences help build early concepts of print, comprehension skills, and a love of reading.
Cognitive Development
Cognitive development for toddlers and early preschoolers includes early math and science exploration. Children begin to develop one-to-one correspondence and expand their spatial awareness. The curriculum supports counting, shape recognition, matching, comparing, and sorting skills. Younger preschoolers explore numbers within a broader range as they progress in understanding quantity and number relationships. Early science experiences include simple hands-on investigations, discussions about how things work, and the use of everyday materials as tools for problem-solving. Active exploration and sensory-rich experiences are provided daily to support curiosity and discovery.
Motor Development, Health & Well-Being
To support motor development, health, and well-being, our curriculum provides an environment that helps children understand their bodies, their needs, and how to care for themselves. Teachers offer daily activities that strengthen both large and small muscle skills while encouraging movement, coordination, and confidence. These experiences help lay the foundation for lifelong healthy habits.
Social & Emotional Development
The social and emotional development curriculum focuses on self and emotional awareness, self-management, and social understanding and relationships. Toddlers and early preschoolers are naturally curious and increasingly independent, while still relying on caring adults for security and support. As language skills develop, children learn to express their needs, wants, and emotions more clearly.
Teachers model respectful interactions and positive social behaviors, supporting children as they learn to cooperate, build relationships, and develop empathy. Children are encouraged to follow routines, take on new challenges, and engage in parallel play with peers. A consistent daily structure, balanced with engaging activities, provides both stability and opportunities for growth, helping children build confidence and expand their skills.
Themed Lesson Plans
Our themed lesson plans for toddlers provide engaging daily learning experiences that encourage early literacy, sensory exploration, movement, music, hands-on materials, and games that foster creativity and curiosity. Teachers use ongoing observations and assessment information to understand each child’s developmental progress and plan experiences that support individual growth and learning goals.
